Adrenaline!

The last couple of days were full of adrenaline for me! After the glacier walking, which was already quite some extreme hiking, we went on to Lake Wanaka. As I wrote in my last diary item, we had too much wind to do it that afternoon. BUT I did do the skydiving in the morning. I had to get up at 6AM and I was at the skydive center at about 7. There we watched a small instruction video. Afterwards we got into our gear and we met the person we were going to dive with.

The guy I was going to jump with happened to be a dutch guy, so it was really funny to just talk in dutch. I also wanted a DVD of the whole experience, so the whole jump is spoken in dutch together with the “instructor”. It was such a RUSH and a great experience. Falling out of a plane gives you a feeling I never had felt before. LOADS of adrenaline.

After the skydive we went on to a musuem kind of thing called “puzzleworld”. It was quite fun to walk around there for a couple of hours. They had these optical illusions which were really cool. I’ve made some pictures with my “broken” camera (digital camera’s don’t like rainy weather on a glacier I guess).
Then the ride was on to Queenstown. After arrival in Queenstown we decided to do some extreme carting down the mountain which was really fun. Then at night we went out with the whole group of the bus, because from Queenstown on the group usually splits up to different places. We had a nice night out.

Then this morning I was getting ready for the next adrenaline rush! Jumping the highest bungy of New Zealand and the 3rd highest in the world; 134 meters! Let me tell you, that’s pretty high. A freefall of about 8 seconds down into a cave. One of the guys I was with filmed it with his photocamera, so I’ll be uploading that stuff later for you all to enjoy. It was a real cool experience and I would love to do it again. Although the skydiving does give you a bigger rush. All in all it was really cool and I am glad I did it.

On another note; Rest in peace sweet balou, you were the most beautiful and special dog I have ever known. I am happy I have been able to have you in my life as long as you lived.
