Kangaroo Island!

After arriving on Kangaroo Island by the ferry I headed to my hostel which is just a 1 minute walk from the ferry. I met this canadian guy in my room with who I went to drink some pints in the local pub that evening. The next day I did the highlights tour with a bus which drove around the whole island. I got to see some very beautiful scenery and some really nice wildlife as well. In the afternoon we had a nice BBQ for lunch which was nice as well. After visiting all these places around the island I stumbled upon a wild kangaroo with its baby. I was even able to pet him! I made a movie out of it so go and check it out! That evening I went watching for penquins, since these come out at night to walk across the island. I was able to spot some in the middle of the road. It was pretty funny to see these wild animals right in front of me. The day after I have been mountain-biking around the island. I hired a bike at the reception of the hostel and I was allowed the ride for the whole day (instead of half the day which I paid for). I asked the guy at the hostel where to go. He recommended me to mountain-bike to a small, but really nice beach he knows. He did warn me the way up there was quite steep, but I went for it anyway. It took me about 90 minutes to get to the beach and the weather was really warm as well again. I went for a swim and sat on the beach for a while. Then I went back to my hostel, as I had a ferry to catch. It was a bit harder than I thought, it took quite a bit of effort to get back up the steep hill I was going down from earlier that afternoon. In the end I made it back to the hostel. I had a quick shower, cooked me some pasta with tuna and I was just in time for the ferry. Wednesday I’ll leave to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road. So one more day of relaxing in Adelaide.
