Because I needed to relax for a bit we decided to rent some movies and watch those for a change in the hostel. We had a very easy and relaxing night which was nice for a change. But, knowing myself.. after all this relaxing I needed something to do again. Two guys I met earlier in Nelson were telling me they were going to do some riversurfing. I decided to join them, eventhough my budget doesn’t really allow me to. But it was great! We were equipped with a board, wetsuit and flippers. Then we entered the river, which was pretty fast and we started to float along the river. At some points there were some really big waves with really fast current. At those points the guide told us to follow her, because you could hurt yourself if you bumped into some rocks which of course were also here and there along the river. At one point we came to the most “difficult” point of the trip, since there were loads of rocks and the current was really really fast. We went with 4 people at a time into the current, which became a disaster.. Oh my god, I am still laughing here. We had to stick close to each other, but instead we all floated somewhere in the big waves and I lost my board along the way as well. We floated down the river and ended up about 50 meters further down than intended. We had a great laugh, cause it was so funny, besides, everything went well and we didn’t bump into the rocks which were on the right. That night it was the last night of some girls I met on the Kiwi-bus, and they asked to come and have a last drink together before they would leave the next morning.. We had a couple of drinks and at around 2 AM I went back to the hostel. The next day the weather wasn’t all that good and I really needed a work-out. I decided to hit the gym again which was really really good. Tonight I’ll go to sleep early, cuase I’ll need to get up early tomorrow since I’ll be leaving to Christchurch then.
That’s it for now all.. Take care!
