Soo.. Eventhough I felt quite tired, I decided to go and have a few drinks out in Lima anyway, as it happened to be the last oppertunity before I was going back home. I ended up with some people from the hostel in a random bar somewhere in downtown Lima. It happened to be an 80`s / 90`s party which was quite fun. At the end of the night I spoke to a Peruvian girl from Lima, Johana, she asked me whether I had tried some of the Peruvian dishes while I had been away. I kind of had to tell her I hadn`t been too adventurous lately when it came to food. I asked her to come for lunch the next day to show me some true Peruvian food.
The next day I woke up quite late. I had a shower and then decided to call the girl I had met the night before. We decided to meet at 15:00. Once she arrived we looked for a restaurant with true Peruvian food. We ended up at a restaurant somewhere near the hostel. Johana ordered some typical Peruvian seafood which was really tasty. Afterwards we saw a city tourbus and we decided to get on it. I grabbed my jacket from the hostel and off we went on the city tour. The city tour was fairly new, as Johana was quite curious about it too. The city tour lasted for about 3 hours. After 2 hours of driving through the – by now darkened – city, we had a little stop at a hotel for some coffee. Afterwards we drove to the fountain park which was really impressive. The fountains looked incredible, especially with the light effects that were used through them. We spent about an hour walking around the fountain park, which was really really fun. Afterwards we headed back to the place where we were supposed to meet the tour, but unfortunately we missed the bus. We then decided to have some food at a nearby food-stand. There we had some more typical Peruvian food, some sort of meat on a stick, which was quite nice too. After dinner we headed back. We grabbed a taxi back to Miraflores, the place I was staying. I said bye to Johana and then went to pack my bag, as I only had 5 hours left before I had to get up again to catch my flight the next morning. All in all, it happened to be a good finish of my trip.
Unfortunately my trip has come to an end, it have been nearly 6 incredible months with lots of adventures and experiences. No doubt I`ll be back to see more of South America, as there`s still much more to see and do!!
