Thursday I went to Manly again on the ferry. I met up with Mark and a danish couple he met in Tasmania. We chilled out in a bar near the beach and later on we had some food in a foodcourt in Manly. After catching the ferry back I went straight back to my hostel. I was incredibly tired. I felt I really had to grab me some sleep for a change. I had a good night sleep which helped a lot.
The next day I met up with Mark to go to the gym. He told me there was a gym in the apartment he was staying in, so I went to the gym of the apartment, since this one was free.. opposed to the 15 bucks I had to pay at the regular gym. The apartment also had a private swimming pool and sauna, so it was a nice way to relax (especially since it was free). Later on we went to do some webdesigning for the job at home. I could lent Mark’s computer to do the job, since he’s a graphical designer, we were able to create a really nice logo. That night we went to have dinner in a really exclusive Chinese Restaurant as suggested by some friends of Maria and John. The food was pretty good and I was really filled up. After dinner we went for a few drinks in the good old Sidebar. The best bar of Sydney if you ask me. We had quite a few drinks again, and it was a good night out.
Saturday I went to meet the uncle of my aunt and his family. It was very nice to meet everyone. They were really kind. Especially the son of Jan was a really nice guy. He was a real gym-junkie like me, so we were a bit alike. I met up with them in the mall of Eastwood. I met up with Jan, his son and daugther and the children of Jan’s daughter. Later on me, Jan and his son went to have a drink in Newtown, a suburb of Sydney. It was nice to talk to them and it was a nice afternoon. Later that night I went out together with Adam and his friends in a club in Darling Harbour. One of the best clubs of Sydney at the moment. It wasn’t really cheap to get into. But the club was excellent. Great atmosphere, nice people and good music. It reminded me a bit of Paradiso in Amsterdam. We spent the rest of the night there and went home at about 3.
The next day I met up with one of my roommates. We went to Bondi beach once more and had breakfast there. Afterwards we went to a authentic australia shop which sold boomerangs and didgereedoo’s. I bought two really cool boomerangs. Then we went to Paddy’s market where I bought a nice Bondi Beach tshirt. Tonight it’s my last night in Sydney so I’ll head down to sidebar for a few drinks and to say bye to all of my friends I made here. Tomorrow morning at 7 my surftrip is going to start. I can’t wait to actually really start to surf!!
I’ll report back for more of my surfing adventures soon!
