Sooo.. A lot has happend eversince I arrived last thursday in Iguazu. I caught a bus from Buenos Aires on wednesday afternoon. The ride took 15 hours to Iguazu. Fortunately bus services are very very comfortable in Argentina. Dinner was included and I was able to sleep for at least 8 or 9 hours, which was really good too.
After arriving I met a guy from Australia in my room. He asked me whether I wanted to come with him to check out the waterfalls. As I felt quite alright. I agreed to join him. It happened to be a perfect day, great weather. The falls were just AMAZING to see.. Its really something wonderful. I took a lot of pictures. We were able to see almost the whole park which was really good too.
The day after we went to check out the last part we didn`t get to see the first day. It wasn`t as impressive as the first day, but it was still nice to see. Once we got back to our hostel we had a beer and we relaxed at the big swimming pool of the hostel. That night we went for dinner in the citycenter of Puerto Iguazu. The food wasn`t really good and it seemed a bit too turisty for my taste. We then went to a bar and had a few drinks. Later we went to a club in the neighbourhood. It happened to be a really nice club. We were dancing all night. The night seemed perfect, until I found out someone had stolen my camera out of my pocket in the discoteque. I was really upset about it, as I had lost all of the pictures I took at the waterfalls. The rest of the pictures I stil have in low quality online fortunately…
The next day I went to the police station to file a report about the theft. It took all afternoon, as everthing takes ages around here. The officers only spoke spanish, so I had to explain the story in my broken spanish. In the end they understood what had happened and they filed a report. That night I went to bed early, as I had to get up early the next day for an adventure tour I had booked.
The next day it was raining like crazy, I was very unlucky I had booked my adventure tour exactly for this day. I did the tour together with a guy from Buenos Aires. The guy from Buenos Aires agreed to take some new pictures of me at the waterfalls, as I explained him I had lost all of my pictures the day before. The tour included a bike ride, but unfortunately we were not able to do it because of the rain. Instead we went into a car and drove that part with the car. Afterwards we went on a boat ride. The boat ride wasn`t the best, as it was raining really hard. From the boat ride we went to do some kayaking, it was quite fun, although it would had been 20 times better if it wasn`t such bad weather. Then we got back on the boat and we went back to land. There we caught a jeep which brought us back to the point we started. From there we went to check out the rest of the park including the falls. The rain stopped and even some sunshine came through. After checking out the falls we went on a speedboat ride which was also included. The speedboat ride was really cool and we actually went into the waterfalls and became really wet. At the end of the day the sun broke through and we had a nice time. From there we went back to the hostel. I had a shower and relaxed for a bit. Then I went to have dinner with the guy I did the tour with and two other guys from Buenos Aires.
Today I have to check out of my hostel as it has been fully booked, so I am going to search for another place to sleep at. Tomorrow I am going to a town right across the border of Argentina in Paraguay. As this little town is considered the best place to buy electronics. As I am in need of a new camera, I am going there to try and find a new one. I am also planning to catch a bus to Brasil either tomorrow night or the morning after, as I really have to keep moving.. That`s what traveling is all about!!!
That`s it for now folks! Stay tuned for more news soon!
