After two relaxing days in Punta del Este I decided my travels had to go on again. Punta del Este is a really nice place, it feels like being in spain with the big hotels and apartments on the beachfront. You can tell right away that this place has a lot of rich people around.

The first day after arriving in Punta del Este I decided to get me a haircut. My hair had been annoying me for a while and I thought it was time to get it a bit shorter. After finding a hairdresser somewhere in town, I had to explain them what kind of haircut I was looking for. I wasn´t too hard to explain exactly what I wanted, basicly all I wanted it to be was a tad shorter. The hairdresser did quite a good job and considering I had to pay about 6 euro´s, I shouldn´t complain too much.. Afterwards I went for a walk through town and along the beachline. It was quite nice and really warm too. Afterwards I had lunch at the port. Later on I met a guy from Columbia in my room. He asked me whether I liked to join him to the beach where some of his friends were at… 2 brasilian guys and a woman from Buenos Aires. I decided to join him.. It was good for practicing my spanish as obviously they were not too great at speaking english, except for the columbian guy.. Later I had some food with an australian guy I met in the hostel.,.. That night we had some drinks in the hostel and went to a bar in town afterwards. As it happened to be a wednesdaynight AND off-season, there wasnt much going on. Finally I decided to head back to the hostel and have some sleep instead.

The next day I woke up quite early. I had some breakfast and met up with the two brasilian guys I met the day before. We decided to go to the beach and have some food. We played some soccer with some english guys on the beach. Afterwards we had lunch somewhere in town. It turned out to be a nice day.. That night I had some pizza with a guy who arrived in my room that night. After dinner I went to the bus terminal and bought me a busticket to Montevideo. I decided to check out Montevideo for a day, as it happened to be on my way to Buenos Aires anyway. That night it turned out to be really quiet.. Nothing going on, just a few people in the hostelbar.. So after a few beers I decided to go to bed. Especially as I had to catch a bus in the morning to Montevideo.

The next morning I woke up, had a shower and packed my bag. After breakfast I checked out of the hostel and walked to the bus terminal. After a two hour busride I got to Montevideo. There I booked me a ferry to Buenos Aires for the day after. Afterwards I grabbed a taxi and went to the hostel I had booked myself into. A had a nice conversation with the taxi driver in spanish, which seems to go better and better. He had no idea about Holland and thought Holland was much bigger than Uruguay, considering the fact that we have about 16 million people living in Holland opposed to the 3 million in Uruguay.. I assured him the population had nothing to do with the size of our country..  Once I arrived at the hostel I checked in and asked reception for a citymap. I asked them for some places to go and visit. Apparently Montevideo is really small and easy to explore by foot. I walked to the historical city center and took some photos. Afterwards I had a walk along the shore to the other side of the city. I sat down for some time in a park and chilled out for a bit. Afterwards I headed back to the hostel. I signed up for tonight´s bbq in the hostel, which should be nice and easy… Plus it turned out to be quite cheap too. As it´s friday night I might actually go out with whoever I meet in the hostel.

It will be good to get back to Buenos Aires though, I have got quite a few people to meet there which should be nice too. More news soon once I am settled back in BA!
