After the BBQ I had in my hostel, I went to a nightclub with a few guys I met during dinner. The hostel arranged a transfer, so we all went together. Once I got there I met a few other people I met the night before in another disco. It was a fun night.
The next day I woke up in the early afternoon. As it happened to be sunday, all the shops were closed. Even most of the restaurants were closed, so I had to look carefully for a place to have some food. After lunch I went to on the bike tour. Unfortunately it happened to be 30+ degrees, so weather conditions were not ideal to do a bike tour. Eventhough it was pretty warm, it wasn´t too bad. It was one of the best tours I´ve probably ever done. You get to experience the city much better if you´re actually IN traffic between cars and buildings. A guide showed us all the tourist hot spots and told us some background information as well while we stopped. The tour lasted for about 3,5 hours, which was good too. After the bike tour I went to a fair with the people I met on the bike tour. We walked around, but as I was quite tired after all this biking, I decided to go back to the hostel and lay down for a bit.
A girl from Brisbane who I met on the bike tour was staying one room next to mine, so I asked her to join me for dinner. We went to a restaurant and had a very nice meal. Later on we went for a drink in the bar in my hostel and eventhough I was aiming for a quite night for a change, I still ended up drinking more than I wanted going to bed at 5 in the morning…
The next day was a really quiet day. I met up with the people with whom I had been in the bar with the night before. Two guys from sydney and two girls from Canada and Brasil. We went for a wander in the shopping street as some wanted to buy some clothes. I just joined them as I didn´t know what else to do, feeling a bit rough of the night before. Me and the two aussie guys went for lunch, but once we got the bill, I found out I was trying to pay with fake, false money. It turned out a taxi driver a few nights back had secretely changed my 100 peso bill (25 EUR) with a fake one. Obviously I hadn´t noticed, but anywhere I try to pay with it they notice right away it´s as fake as ti can be. Thankfully the two aussie guys still had some money, so there wasn´t a real big problem. That night I decided to go to a tango show. I went on my own, but I was asked to join a table with two Swiss girls. We had dinner and had some talks about ttraveling. Then the show started which was nice to see too.
The day after I decided to leave Buenos Aires and move on to the next place. I had been in contact with the friends I know from Mar del plata. They had invited me to come over and stay at their place. I decided to go and visit them while I was still in the neighbourhood. I bought me a busticket and somewhere in the afternoon I headed down to Mar del plata. After all this heat in the city, I was actually looking forward to a beach to get some tan at. I arrived in Mar del plata at 21.00. There my friends were already waiting for me to pick me up from the busstation. They brought me to their home and we had dinner. Later on I went to the city center of Mar del plata with Antonella, a niece of my friend. We went to a club in Mar del plata where i had been two years before as well. We stayed there until 6 in the morning.
The next day was the easiest day so far. I woke up late, had some food, watched some television. We planned to go to the beach, but I´ll probably go there tomorrow instead. Other than that nothing much happened. It was weird to see my ex again after two years, but ti wasn´t as hard as I thought it could had been which was good too. I am planning to stay here for a little week. Then I am planning to move on. I am actually thinking of going to Brasil as Carnaval starts there in about 9 days. It would be really cool to experience that too. We´ll just have to see whether I´ll be able to make it in time..
